Gordon Banks MP calls for Green Investment Bank to be located in Scotland
Gordon Banks MP has pressed Secretary of State for Scotland Michael Moore on the location of the proposed Green Investment Bank (GIB).
The aim is of the GIB is to help boost investment in low-carbon, green renewable technologies in the UK, simultaneously creating jobs and new industries.
Mr. Banks said;
“The decision on the location of the Green Investment Bank has still to be taken and it is to be hoped that Scottish Secretary Michael Moore does his utmost to ensure that is based in Scotland.”
“Scotland would be the ideal location for the new bank. In terms of the legal and financial services backdrop and project opportunities it couldn’t be better.”
“With our rich natural resources we already have a growing renewables industry which has the realistic potential in wind and waves to encourage the green investment that we need for the future.”
