Gordon Banks MP has congratulated Breathe Easy Perthshire after the support group recently received the latest in a long line of awards.

The group were British Lung Foundation National and Regional Winners in the category of Outstanding Contributions to Awareness Raising and Campaigning for 2009-2010, and also picked up the Regional Award for Outstanding Service over 5 years.

Part of the national Breathe Easy support network, they offer help and information for people in the community living with a lung condition and also to their carers, family and friends.  Since forming almost 6 years ago, they have been very active, campaigning and fundraising for breathless people.

Mr. Banks said;

“Breathe Easy Perthshire are doing excellent work for those living with lung disease.  Many people in this situation feel isolated and face a daily struggle to live a relatively normal life. Breathe Easy are trying to give these people a voice.”

“They are working hard on different levels; supporting people and allowing them to come together and share their experiences, then learning from that experience and using it to make others aware of lung disease and the problems that many sufferers face - and fighting for the services that must be improved to help them.  I am happy to continue supporting the group.”
