Local MP Gordon Banks has offered his assistance to anyone left disappointed by the response to recent adverse weather conditions which blighted Perthshire recently.
Mr Banks said - “This has obviously been a difficult time for people in Perthshire with reports of the worst snow ever seen by residents in places such as Auchterarder which resulted in road closures and power failures.”
“My office has been in contact with Transport Scotland, Scottish & Southern Energy and the local Council in order to be kept updated on the latest developments.”
“Clearing roads and keeping Perthshire moving in a safe manner has to be the top priority.”
“At the height of the adverse weather there were around 11,000 homes without power and Scottish and Southern Energy had emergency teams out trying to repair damage but many of the teams had difficulty in reaching the affected areas.”
“It’s important that all services work together to support all those affected, especially those vulnerable people who will have found this recent spell of weather very distressing.”
“I want to pay tribute to all those out working trying to resume normal service in Perthshire and supporting those more vulnerable residents in our communities.”
“My office has already been contacted by those negatively affected by the recent weather and if I can be of any assistance to you then please do contact the office on 01259 721536.”
